MX Linux is a cooperative venture between the antiX and former MEPIS communities, using the best tools and talents from each distro. It is a midweight OS designed to combine an elegant and efficient desktop with simple configuration, high stability, solid performance and medium-sized footprint. MX Linux relies on the excellent upstream work by Linux and the open-source community, deploying Xfce4 as Desktop Environment on top of a Debian Stable base.

MX Linux, as described above, provides what they call a midweight operating system that can run well on older or modest hardware. They also still support 32-bit processors so you can dust off that old laptop and put it to good use. The Xfce desktop is clean and usable and the MX team provides a number of tools to help users configure their system in a simpler way than many other Linux distributions. They have an active and helpful community in case you were to have an issue (or just say hello and thanks!).
